Similar to the Opte Project's maps of the internet and Matthew Hurst's map of the blogosphere, this map of the Digg community shows the "connectedness" of Digg's users. Type in your user name to see if you were popular enough to be included on the map. If so, a pointer will indicate where on the map you are located.

I am sure most of Any Arb's readers have used or participated in Digg at some point or another. Hey it is one of the "biggies" of the Web 2.0 era.
Well yesterday Digg decided to remove any posts containing the encryption key for HD DVD. No big deal you say...well Diggers went ape. Filling the entire front page exclusively with stories relating to this topic.
It has highlighted an issue that has been long time coming. Digg used to be about user moderated content. I understand this cannot be sustained with the amount of spam sites auto posting and paying to be dugg up, but it is a nice eutopian ideal. This proves the extent of the moderation by the Digg elite.
However check out the
post by Kevin Rose himself and it seems like he is listening to users!

The Digg button is a very simple beginner electronics that teaches how to solder and program microcontroller. Dear Kevin
I really dig digg I have been a Digg user for little over a year and find myself opening up Digg.com at least 5 times a day. I have so many different browsing pattern depending on my particular preference at the time but lately I find that I can’t really can’t use it properly anymore. Who has the time to wade through 1000 random 1 digg entries that bloggers can’t even get their mothers to dig on their behalf. On behalf of your community I ask (actually beg) for a filter on upcoming diggs by the minimum number of diggs at my choosing. When I have time I’ll wade through the 1 digg wonders but please give me the tools to know what 2, 3 or 5 of my fellow diggers have found interesting lately. The gap between the front page and the interesting stuff is widening give us some control back
