The Indianapolis Motor Speedway has been removed from the 2008 Formula One calendar. Speedway CEO and F1 Boss both agreed that it should be removed (no reasons given). However they left the door open for future discussions.
U.S. fans say it is a huge disappointment and the track has experienced record numbers for the venue since 2000. The debut event had almost 200,000 spectators!
"'Tis a sad day indeed!" said a South African fan while being interviewed over his anti-hangover breakfast in Midrand this morning. "It is a great circuit and mix of steep embankments and tight track racing make for exciting races. Especially when the teams have to balance the car" he further commented.
